Our Purpose

  • Children’s Services funding helps abused and neglected children.
  • Your support keeps children safe at home or safe with relatives, foster-care and adoption.
  • These federal requirements prioritize safe, permanent homes for Hamilton County children.

Our Promise - WON’T RAISE TAXES.

  • Careful financial management addresses need while safeguarding the community’s investment.
  • The County’s Tax Levy Review Committee and their independent and multi-year review of Job &  Family Services (JFS) operations and finances recommended that the two existing levies should be  combined into one renewal. The County Commissioners voted unanimously to place the combined  renewal levy, which won’t raise taxes, on the November 2021 ballot.

From Epidemic to Pandemic

  • Being ready is a necessity, but two national crises have complicated financial forecasting. First, the opioid epidemic dramatically increased the needs of children, then the COVID-19 pandemic caused a cascade of family problems with immediate and long-term needs.
  • The number of Hamilton County children receiving Children’s Services care increased 29% since 2010. Those numbers came down ― but by how much is murky. The TLRC consultant’s [draft] report calls 2020 data an ‘anomaly’ due to COVID-19.
  • Mandated reports have reduced but are expected to increase once children return to school full-time.
